Sinanen Zeomic attended IBRG’s International Autumn Meeting 2017
Sinanen Zeomic participated in the IBRG (International Biodeterioration Research Group) Autumn Meeting 2017, held between November 14 – 16, 2017 at Nara Kasugano International Forum, Japan. At IBRG, experts from microbiology gather every six months and evaluate and develop test methods to study the basic principle of biological degradation. This was the second time held in Japan since November 2005, and the research results were reported from each group, functional fluids, paints, wet-state preservation, plastics and textiles. Also on the following day November 17, a mini-symposium on the theme of biofilm was held jointly with Society of International sustaining growth for Antimicrobial Articles (SIAA), and the research results on the measurement methods of biofilm were presented by Japan food Research Laboratories and National Institute of Technology, Suzuka College.
Our company is a membership since 1999 and has actively participated in the IBRG meeting. We give out opinions and suggestions on the testing method from the viewpoint of the Japanese side. With the support of IBRG, SIAA which we participate in started working on international testing methods based on JIS Z 2801, a Japanese antibacterial testing method since 2002. Now this test method is known worldwide as ISO 22196-2011 (Measurement of antimicrobial activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces).
