Founded in 1944, the NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation) is a Michigan, USA, based independent and accredited organization that develops strict examination standards for various related public health and environmental products by carrying out compatibility tests for safety and performance. Products that pass all of the criteria are listed on the NSF website, and the NSF label must be displayed on the product.
