Pyridine
Pyridine is a heterocyclic compound expressed by the chemical formula C6H5N.
Presence of the pyridine can be easily noticed at a very low concentration level of 0.063ppm. Although it is not regulated by the Offensive Odor Control Act is considered as a malodorous substance contained in tobacco.
Pyridine alone is widely used as an industrial raw material, but in nature it is widely present as a structural component of pyridine alkaloids such as nicotine.
