Antibacterial Activity Value

It is an index value to determine the degree of antimicrobial activity by antimicrobial test methods such as JIS Z 2801 and JIS L 1902.
The value is calculated by the difference in the logarithm of the viable cell counts found on an antibacterial-treated product and an untreated product after inoculation with and incubation of bacteria.
The antibacterial-activity values used to define the effectiveness shall be agreed upon by all interested parties.
